Streak CRM Review:

Is This Gmail-Native CRM Really Worth It?

What Is Streak CRM?

Streak is unusual in the CRM market because it doesn’t just integrate with Gmail. It is built inside Gmail.

Streak describes itself as a fully embedded workflow and productivity platform that allows users to manage CRM activities directly from their Gmail inbox. Its system is organised around pipelines, boxes and a Gmail sidebar.

That distinction matters.

With a conventional CRM, you generally have a CRM application and an email application that communicate with each other.

With Streak, Gmail is effectively the centre of the operation.

For businesses already committed to Google Workspace, this can remove one of the most irritating parts of CRM adoption: constantly switching between applications.

Emails, contacts, deals, tasks, files and customer information can be brought together around the conversations already taking place in Gmail.

That is Streak’s strongest argument.

It is also the source of its biggest limitation.

If your business does not live in Gmail, Streak makes considerably less sense.

Streak CRM Review: What Has Changed?

The older version of our review no longer reflects the product accurately enough.

Streak has expanded considerably beyond basic email tracking and pipeline management.

Current features include:

  • Customisable pipelines
  • Deal and contact management
  • Email sharing
  • Deal comments
  • File management
  • Call and meeting records
  • Email and link tracking
  • Mail merge
  • Pipeline filters
  • Roles and permissions
  • Reports and dashboards
  • Google Sheets exports
  • Automation
  • API and webhooks
  • Zapier integrations
  • AI-powered deal summaries
  • AI deal Q&A
  • AI-assisted data entry
  • Data validation
  • Formula columns
  • Magic columns
  • Mobile apps for iOS and Android

Streak also allows businesses to import CRM information from CSV files, Google Sheets and Excel, while its AI pipeline creator can generate a workflow from a description of the business process.

So this is no longer fair to describe as merely an “email tracking tool with CRM features.”

It is a genuine CRM.

The question is whether it is the right kind of CRM for your business.

What We Like About Streak

1. Gmail integration is genuinely excellent

This is the reason to consider Streak.

Streak does not force users to abandon Gmail and learn an entirely separate CRM environment.

Its pipelines sit within Gmail, while the sidebar provides CRM information alongside email conversations. Streak can also automatically associate emails with the relevant deals, reducing the need for manual logging.

For an email-heavy business, that can be extremely practical.

You are already communicating with customers through Gmail.

Why add another screen?

Streak’s answer is: don’t.

The catch

This advantage assumes that Gmail is where your business already lives.

If your team uses Outlook, another email platform, or a mixture of systems, Streak’s biggest selling point becomes much less compelling.

2. Pipelines are flexible

Streak isn’t restricted to sales pipelines.

The company positions pipelines as workflows that can be used for sales, partnerships, recruiting, investing and other business processes.

That flexibility makes Streak more interesting than a simple sales CRM.

A small business could potentially create separate workflows for:

  • Leads
  • Sales opportunities
  • Customer onboarding
  • Partnerships
  • Recruitment
  • Projects
  • Support cases

The important word is “potentially.”

Flexibility is useful only if the resulting system remains understandable.

And this is where some users begin to experience Streak’s limitations.

3. Email tracking remains a strong feature

Streak provides email and link tracking, allowing users to see engagement with messages and links.

For salespeople, this can be useful when deciding when to follow up.

It is particularly logical inside Streak because email is already the centre of the CRM.

G2 users frequently mention email tracking and Gmail integration among Streak’s strengths.

But remember that email tracking is not unique to Streak.

Many modern CRMs offer it.

The difference is that Streak puts it directly inside Gmail.

4. Streak has become much stronger on automation and AI

This is one of the biggest changes from the older review.

Current Streak features include AI-generated deal summaries, deal Q&A, AI-assisted data entry, formula columns and “magic columns.”

There is also an AI pipeline creator designed to help users create a workflow by describing what they need.

This is useful, but we would advise against getting carried away with the AI marketing.

AI features are now appearing throughout the CRM market.

The important question is not whether a CRM has AI.

The important question is whether the AI actually saves your business time.

For Streak, the answer is likely to be yes for businesses dealing with large quantities of email and CRM data.

It is less convincing as a reason by itself to choose Streak over a competing CRM.

What We Don’t Like About Streak

1. Gmail is both its greatest strength and its greatest weakness

This is the first question prospective buyers should ask:

Does your business want its CRM to live inside Gmail?

If the answer is yes, Streak becomes very attractive.

If the answer is no, look elsewhere.

Streak’s own documentation describes Gmail as the environment in which the CRM operates.

That creates a very specific product philosophy.

Rather than giving you a completely independent CRM that happens to integrate with Gmail, Streak makes Gmail the foundation.

That will feel brilliant to some businesses.

It will feel restrictive to others.

2. Complex reporting is not Streak’s strongest area

This is one of the most important criticisms in current G2 feedback.

G2 users praise Streak’s ease of use and Gmail integration, but some report that reporting becomes less satisfactory as pipelines become larger or more complicated. Users have specifically requested deeper analytics and greater reporting customisation.

That is an important distinction.

Streak has reporting.

The question is whether its reporting is sophisticated enough for your business.

For a small sales team tracking straightforward opportunities, probably.

For a company wanting highly developed forecasting, complex analytics and extensive management reporting, we would investigate alternatives before committing.

3. The interface can become busy

Gmail is already information-heavy.

Add pipelines, CRM fields, email threads, tasks, tracking information and other data, and the interface can become crowded.

This isn’t simply a theoretical concern.

Current G2 reviews include comments about Streak becoming harder to navigate as more information is added. Other users describe the product as becoming more limited when dealing with larger pipelines.

In other words:

Streak is at its best when your workflow is organised and relatively focused.

Throw everything into it and the simplicity can start disappearing.

4. There is still a learning curve

It sounds contradictory.

A CRM inside Gmail should be easy, shouldn’t it?

Not necessarily.

Streak introduces its own concepts, including pipelines, boxes, fields, views and CRM workflows.

Current G2 feedback identifies the learning curve and setup process as drawbacks for some users.

So we wouldn’t describe Streak as “zero learning required.”

We would describe it as:

Easy to understand once you understand how Streak thinks.

That is a more useful distinction.

5. Performance complaints shouldn’t be ignored

Most users clearly aren’t reporting major problems, but some G2 feedback mentions Gmail lag or performance issues associated with Streak running inside the inbox. One recent reviewer said they sometimes disabled Streak because of Gmail performance concerns.

One or two negative experiences do not prove that Streak causes widespread performance problems.

But they are worth mentioning because Streak operates inside Gmail.

If your CRM is effectively sitting on top of your inbox, anything that affects the inbox matters.

Streak CRM Pricing 2026

Streak’s current paid CRM pricing is significantly different from the pricing shown in our older review.

Current pricing is:

Plan Monthly price Annual billing Main audience
Free tools $0 $0 Email productivity tools
Pro $49/user/month $59/user/month Teams needing core CRM
Pro+ $69/user/month $89/user/month Teams needing automation and advanced reports
Enterprise $129/user/month $159/user/month Larger organisations needing advanced controls

Streak currently lists the Pro plan at $49 per user per month when paid monthly and $59 per user per month on annual billing. Pro+ is $69 monthly or $89 annually, while Enterprise is $129 monthly or $159 annually.

There is an important wrinkle here.

Streak continues to offer its email power tools for free, including features such as email and link tracking, email snippets, mail merge with a daily limit, Streak Share and Thread Splitter. Full CRM functionality and team collaboration require a paid plan.

Is Streak expensive?

For a small business, it isn’t cheap.

At $49 per user per month, a five-person team would be paying $245 per month before moving to the higher tier.

That puts Streak into a price bracket where it deserves to be compared seriously with established CRM competitors.

The fact that it operates inside Gmail does not automatically make it good value.

The real question is whether eliminating CRM/email switching saves enough time to justify the subscription.

Streak CRM Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent Gmail integration
  • CRM functionality directly inside the inbox
  • Strong email tracking
  • Flexible pipelines
  • Useful collaboration features
  • Increasingly capable AI tools
  • Google Workspace compatibility
  • Mobile apps available
  • Good automation and integration options
  • Free email productivity tools

Cons

  • Gmail dependence is a serious limitation for some businesses
  • Can become cluttered with complex workflows
  • Reporting may not satisfy advanced users
  • Learning curve is greater than the “simple Gmail CRM” description suggests
  • Paid CRM plans are relatively expensive for small teams
  • Some users report Gmail performance issues
  • Not the obvious choice for businesses wanting a traditional standalone CRM

Who Is Streak Best For?

We would consider Streak particularly suitable for:

  • Gmail-first small businesses

If your entire team already works in Gmail and Google Workspace, Streak deserves serious consideration.

  • Salespeople who hate CRM administration

If your sales team repeatedly complains about having to update a CRM after sending emails, Streak’s Gmail-based approach makes obvious sense.

  • Small teams managing relationship-heavy workflows

Streak’s pipelines can be used for more than conventional sales.

  • Businesses that want a CRM without completely changing their workflow

This is probably Streak’s strongest target market.

Who Should Probably Avoid Streak?

We would look elsewhere if:

  • Your company doesn’t use Gmail
  • You rely heavily on Outlook
  • You need sophisticated enterprise reporting
  • You want a completely independent CRM platform
  • Your business requires extensive omnichannel marketing
  • You need complex sales forecasting
  • Your CRM requirements extend far beyond relationship and workflow management
  • You dislike having CRM functionality embedded into your email environment

In short, don’t buy Streak simply because you use Gmail.

Buy it because the Gmail-native workflow solves a problem for your business.

Streak vs a Traditional CRM

This is where buyers need to be careful.

Streak isn’t necessarily competing on the same terms as every conventional CRM.

A traditional CRM generally asks you to work inside its own application and then integrates with Gmail.

Streak takes the opposite approach.

It puts the CRM inside Gmail.

That creates a very different user experience.

If you want… Streak’s position
CRM inside Gmail Excellent
Simple email-driven sales management Excellent
Flexible pipelines Very good
Email tracking Excellent
Google Workspace workflow Excellent
Advanced reporting Good, but investigate carefully
Complex enterprise CRM Look at alternatives
Non-Gmail email environment Poor fit
Traditional standalone CRM Look elsewhere

What Do Customers Say?

The current G2 data is broadly positive, but it becomes more interesting when you look beyond the headline rating.

Streak has a 4.5/5 rating from 264 G2 reviews. The strongest recurring positives include ease of use, Gmail integration, tracking and email management.

However, the negative feedback is remarkably consistent in another area: users who push Streak into more complicated territory can find reporting, navigation and customisation less satisfying.

That suggests an important pattern.

Streak isn’t necessarily becoming a bad CRM as your business grows. It may simply become a less natural CRM as your requirements grow.

That’s a very different criticism.

And it is one prospective buyers should take seriously.

Our Verdict: Is Streak CRM Worth It in 2026?

Yes, for the right business.

But we wouldn’t recommend Streak simply because it is popular, has a high G2 rating or works inside Gmail.

Its proposition is more specific than that.

Streak is a particularly interesting CRM for businesses where email is the centre of the customer relationship.

If your team spends most of its day in Gmail, Streak can eliminate a considerable amount of CRM friction.

Emails, deal information, tasks and customer history can live together rather than being split between your inbox and another application.

That is a genuine advantage.

But there is a trade-off.

The more complicated your business becomes, the more important reporting, forecasting, automation, integrations, permissions and structured CRM functionality become.

And that is where Streak needs closer scrutiny.

Our conclusion is therefore straightforward:

Streak is one of the better choices for Gmail-centric small businesses, but it is not a universal CRM.

If you want a CRM that disappears into your Gmail workflow, put Streak on your shortlist.

If you want a CRM that becomes the central operating system for a complex sales organisation, compare it carefully against more traditional platforms before making the switch.

Best reason to choose Streak: You want your CRM to live inside Gmail.

Best reason not to choose Streak: You want your CRM to be bigger than Gmail.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Streak CRM really free?

Streak offers free email productivity tools, including email and link tracking and other email features. Its full CRM functionality and team collaboration require a paid subscription.

  • Does Streak work with Gmail?

Yes. Gmail is fundamental to Streak’s design rather than simply being an optional integration.

  • Does Streak have mobile apps?

Yes. Streak currently provides dedicated iOS and Android mobile apps, in addition to its Gmail integration.

  • How much does Streak CRM cost?

Current paid CRM plans start at $49 per user per month for Pro when billed monthly. Pro+ costs $69 and Enterprise costs $129 per user per month. Annual billing is discounted according to Streak’s current pricing page.

It can be, particularly if the business relies heavily on Gmail and Google Workspace. Small businesses wanting sophisticated reporting or a more traditional standalone CRM should compare alternatives before buying.

  • Is Streak better than a traditional CRM?

Final Scorecard

Ease of use: 4.3/5
Gmail integration: 5/5
Pipeline management: 4.5/5
Email management: 4.8/5
Automation: 4/5
Reporting: 3.7/5
Integrations: 4/5
AI features: 4/5
Mobile: 4/5
Value for small businesses: 3.8/5
Overall: 4.2/5

Bottom line: Streak has a very clear identity, and that is a good thing. It is not trying to be another generic CRM with a Gmail integration bolted on. It is a CRM designed around Gmail. For the right small business, that can be exactly what makes it useful. For everyone else, it may simply be the wrong architecture.
